The pupils attending our local schools today are the university students of tomorrow.

For our faculty, that's reason enough to welcome pupils on campus. We offer many different ways to get to know the University and our faculty. Below you will find an overview.

For pupils from local schools

Come discover the natural sciences! A variety of practical workshops give you a chance to experiment for yourself and soak up the atmosphere of a university campus while you're at it. The holiday programme „Trying out chemistry“ provides valuable insights into chemistry and biochemistry. Our faculty also participates in a nationwide Girls‘Day event held each year and in the regional initiative MUT – Mädchen und Technik“, which promotes women in technology.

For school groups

School instruction at a university? That's no problem in Bayreuth! During the semester breaks, students working under the Chair of Didactics of Biology provide year 11-12 pupils with laboratory instruction in biological/genetic engineering. In addition, the project "chemistry links the natural sciences and technology(C#Nat)"  provides an inside look into some spectacular topics – right here in our chemistry laboratory.

For prospective students

Find out more about our programmes of study! We invite prospective students to attend an Open Day focusing on one of our programmes of study. Interesting lectures, tours, laboratory experiments, and discussions with students will make it easier for you to decide what to study and where:

...and much more

The University of Bayreuth's Botanical Garden is an attraction you won't want to miss. Tours for school groups are a great chance to learn about tropical crops, medicinal plants, and honey bees as well as to explore rain forest plants in our greenhouses. And the doors of the University Library are always open to pupils who are driven by their intellectual curiosity. Here you'll find out more about everything else the University of Bayreuth has to offer.
